Drum Workshop 5000 Double Bass Drum Pedal

The DW 5002AD3 Accelerator Chain-Drive Double Bass Pedal features a lot of cleanings and upgrades to its earlier version, performance-proven design.

The illustrious DW 5000 Series bass drum pedals have been one of the best choices for drummers  and the standard of the business for over 20 years. This pedal features a strap drive with accelerator. Other features include aluminum hex shafts, pedal plates, and linkages; dual/side-adjusting hoop clamps; 101 2-way beaters; and built-in spurs plus all the versatility, adjustability, and reliability that lets players to customize the feel and performance to fit the way they play. Its patented Single Post Casting design brings ease of movement between the pedal and hi-hat, also allowing the pedals to be played independently or simultaneously.

The Stroke Adjustment can be used to alter the distance the beater takes before hitting the bass drum. For a slightly heavier (longer) stroke move the screw towards the back, for a lighter (shorter) stroke move the screw forwards.

The length of the beater rod can be set to have the desired feel and impact area. Normally, the beater should hit the center or an area 1-2 inches above the center of the drum. Once the desired height is achieved, secure the beater hub memory lock using the 2mm allen wrench (included) to keep consistent positioning.

When set in combination with the beater height and stroke adjustment, the length of the chain affects the angle of the footboard and the length of the stroke. To change the position of the chain, you have to carefully remove the master link connector from the chain and sprocket and, to adjust the chain, reposition it as desired by moving it to an alternate hole in the sprocket. The factory settings are recommended for most general playing situations and preferred by many drummers.
