A vintage video about an unknown Korean drummer, playing with an unknown band has become a big Youtube hit. In the video the drummer jumps up and down, bangs his head, and plays very energetic on his cymbals, it’s for sure he wants to let his inner rock star out.

Yeah yeah, haven’t updated for two weeks or so. I was very busy and I also went to Berlin last week. The weather wasn’t that great, I heard from friends that the weather here in Holland was even better. But I enjoyed it; The food was cheap, the beers were big and there was much to see. Yeah, Berlin is for sure a really interesting city to visit!

But this is a drum blog right? No, I haven’t seen anything interesting about drums at my stay in Germany. But to show you that German people can do interesting stuff on the drums, I’ve included a literally hot video from the German Folk metal band In Extremo below.

No, taking over is a way to big word for this. But Fritsl of Let’sMakeRobots.com has made his own little drumming robot called the Yellow Drum Machine. The robot navigates around and avoids obstacles until it finds something “worth playing on it”.

Meshuggah’s new disc “obZen” came out earlyer this month and one of the most intricate tracks on it is called “Bleed“. Some tricky drum stuff we have here, but if you think you can compete with Tomas Haake you can now prove it through a new competition that Nuclear Blast Records has set up!
The grand price will be an telephone call with Tomas Haake himself, a copy of the new album signed by the whole band and an autographed “obZen” poster. 10 runner-up winners will only receive the autographed poster.

25 year old Nueng from Bangkok, Thailand submitted his blog, Drum Clip And Pic. to the Daily Drummer link Directory. As you know I write a short review of all sites that got submitted.

Nueng’s blog seems like a young one, just like Daily Drummer is. Like the blog title says, It’s a place where you can find drum video’s and pictures but there’s more… There are also some drum tips and drumlessons that can be useful. The blog isn’t updated that much but it’s nice to look a couple of times a month on it.

Ok, this video is an quite old one, but I hadn’t seen it yet. Have you ever wondered how they set up the enormous drum kit of Terry Bozzio? This movie, with some commentary by Bozzio himself, shows it all. I still wonder how many hours it will take in reality…

Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante is a coffee lover, in fact the metal drummer released his own line of coffee and coffee products via Legends Cup Coffee, which is owned by Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine’s wife. Next time you’re gonna buy new drum sticks, don’t panic if you can’t find your old trustworthly Pro-Mark stick packaging, cause Pro-Mark just released a new packaging line. New to the packaging is a color-coding system for all of the nearly 200 drum stick models Pro-Mark has. The new sticks are categorized by diameter now, in five diffirent size groupings: Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large and Double Extra Large. The model numbers of all the sticks are still the same.
